Welcome to the Troop 43 Web Site

Troop 43 Pembroke, Massachusetts currently has about 45 scouts.

If you are interested in joining our Troop we would encourage you to click on "Contact Us" and we'll follow-up on your inquiry.

The guiding ideals of Troop 43 are based on the BSA Scout Law, Scout Oath, Scout Motto and the Boy Led method.  All Scouts and Adult Leaders (Scouters) are guided by these ideals in all troop functions.  These are among the first things a new scout learns.

“Empowering boys to be leaders is the core of Scouting. Scouts learn by doing, and what they do is lead their patrols and their troop. The boys themselves develop a troop program, then take responsibility for figuring out how they will achieve the goals. One of our most important challenges is to train boy leaders to run the troop by providing direction, coaching and support. The boys will make mistakes now and then and will rely upon the adult leaders to guide them. Only through real hands-on experience as leaders can boys learn to lead.”   - BSA Scoutmasters Handbook.

Merit Badge Counselors

Posted on Sep 7 2014 - 12:03pm

All merit badge counselors should take a look at the BSA website for the Essentials of Merit Badge Counseling. It's a great piece for all counselors to review at the start of a new scout year. It also reiterates the importance of requiring no more or no less for requirements for scouts to complete merit badges.
